Marketing Team

Positions open: 3

Social media savvy with a flair for graphic design? The PhotoSoc Marketing team oversees all of the clubs' social media channels, from the website to Instagram. The marketing team works together to run the club's social channels, creating marketing collateral and more. We don't expect you to be an expert with everything, so we tend to break up territories, depending on the skillsets and responsibilities of each marketing coordinator. The responsibilities of a marketing coordinator include:

  • Attend all our events and capture content

  • Communicate with our events team to design graphics

  • Plan and film interactive content

Events Team

Do you enjoy planning parties? The events team at the PhotoSoc is a very hands-on department that gets to lead the planning of events ranging from workshops and photowalks, to socials and galleries. The events team plans and executes the club's two to three monthly events. Some of the responsibilities of an events coordinator include:

   • Planning and executing events

   • Communicate with marketing to produce events

   • Brainstorming new events, and producing event docs outlining plans

   • Booking rooms across campus for meetings and events

Darkroom

Positions open: 2

Do you live in our darkroom? Any fans of analogue film are welcome to apply for the darkroom team where you'll be running our in-house darkroom. In this role, you'll be maintaining our darkroom and supplies, in addition to hosting events and other activities. Some of the responsibilities of the darkroom team:

   • Maintaining the darkroom and keeping it in working order

   • Holding darkroom-specific office hours

   • Working with the events team to plan darkroom-specific events

   • Overseeing film sales and bulk rolling new film as required

   • Providing orientations to new darkroom members

Equipment

Have you ever rented equipment from us? Do you have a knack for all things cameras? The equipment team oversees the rentals for camera bodies, lenses, and more! To help out with this vital part of the PhotoSoc, apply now! We are looking for organized individuals who are willing to help:

   • Meet up with members in the office to give and collect rentals 

   • Confirm security deposits of rentals, while checking the quality of returns 

   • Manage emailing for rentals

Studio

Any studio-savvy individuals are welcome to apply for this team where you'll be overseeing studio bookings and coordinating with members about studio use. Some of the responsibilities include:

   • Helping members learn how to use the studio

   • Overseeing studio bookings and managing the Studio schedule

   • Lets members into the Studio when they have a booking

Rawfiles Magazine

Magazine editor (2)

Ever been inspired by the amazing pages on Instagram? Or love to pick up stylish books in waiting lounges or lobbies? This year, the PhotoSoc team will be continuing with our Magazine initiative. We are looking for creative and organized members to form a team to organize and design our third publication! 

Our Editorial Editors will oversee replying to the department’s emails, editing articles submitted by members, and writing specific articles ranging from club-related pieces to editorials for the annual print issue. We are looking for a people person who is confident in their English proficiencies. Don’t be shy to speak your mind when it comes to editing pieces and be curious enough to ask questions!


Magazine Designer  (3)

Our Design Editors are responsible for laying out edited pieces in WordPress, publishing articles, and designing the print issue with InDesign. We are looking for creative, group-oriented individuals who are ready to not only defend their ideas but also come up with unique, original ones to enhance our team.
